Morning Meeting notes 2.20.25:
 
Our inspirational quote for the day: À vaillant coeur rien d'impossible. This is one of the most popular sayings in French by Jacques Coeur that talks about bravery. The literal translation is “For a valiant heart nothing is impossible.” This proverb is popular because it tells humans that the sky's the limit and we should work hard to accomplish the impossible.
 
Film Festival Announcement
The International Film Festival presented by the World Language Department is this Saturday, February 22nd from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. This is a free to attend event for all TES community members, with one film session starting at 12:00 pm, followed by an intermission with student short films, and then a second session starting at 2:15 pm. There will be free popcorn and pizza for attending, and your world language teachers will offer extra credit for completing a reflection on one or two movies. 
 
Today's trailer is for a film called Persepolis. Set during the Iranian Revolution, Persepolis chronicles Marjane's childhood and adolescence. Forced to wear the veil and witnessing political turmoil, she discovers Western culture while navigating a repressive regime. Sent to Austria for safety, she confronts cultural biases and loneliness. Though returning to Iran, she ultimately flees to France, shaped by her experiences and seeking freedom of expression.

Girls varsity basketball at STAB at 4:30 pm in the LIS championship 
Boys varsity basketball at St. Christopher's at 6:00 pm in the VPL semifinals
