Steve Dowell Algebra II Bootcamp

Course Description

This course will review and reinforce basic Algebra skills for students entering Algebra II. The course will cover the following topics:
 
  • Evaluating Expressions
  • Solving Algebraic Equations
  • Linear Equations
  • Function Notation
  • Simple and Compound Equations
  • Systems of Equations
  • Simplifying Exponents and Radicals
  • Factoring Quadratic Expressions
  • Solving Quadratic Equations
 
It is open to students of all grades and levels. Students will experience classroom instruction, one-on-one tutorial, and group activities, all designed to prepare students for Algebra II success.

About the Instructor

Steve Dowell is entering his 6th year as a Trinity teacher, and he has taught high school  mathematics for over 15 years. He completed his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Georgia and his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University. He is currently a doctoral candidate in education at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Steve loves all things math and science related. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, listening to his extensive record collection, playing all sorts of games, and coming up with new corny jokes for the Trinity morning meetings.
