Josh Singleton graduated from West Virginia University with a BFA in ceramics and has been a part of the Richmond clay community for six years. Initially, he pursued chemistry in his academic studies, but changed to a fine arts major upon discovering ceramics. He found ceramics to be the perfect blend of culture, science, and creativity. Over the years, he has taught ceramics and fiber art at the Visual Arts Center, sharing his passion through classes and workshops. He is a part of Shockoe Bottom Clay where he has his studio and also teaches private lessons. He has participated in local art exhibitions, the RVA clay tour, and his work can be found at the VMFA shop. Mr. Singleton specializes in utilitarian ceramics with an emphasis on surface design, his educational background and experiences allow him to offer a unique and enriching perspective on the art of ceramics.
