Homecoming Week 2024 unites students, teachers, parents, alumni and friends in a celebration of the best of Trinity
A beloved annual rally point for every part of the Trinity community, Homecoming Week 2024 lived up to the hype — with students, faculty, alumni and friends enjoying several days of competitive fun and joyous reunion.
With quirky dress-up prompts like “Anything But a Backpack” and “Rhyme Without Reason,” students put their creativity on display during the
Spirit Week activities leading up to Homecoming Weekend. During each Discovery Period, classes competed against each other in games of skill and luck — from field goal kicking to a water balloon toss to the perennial favorite, dreidel — in pursuit of the coveted Titan Cup.
At
Friday afternoon’s Pep Rally in the Estes Athletic Center, competitors thrilled the crowd with games of Knockout and “Human Hungry, Hungry Hippos” before the final lip-sync battle set new standards for both decibel level and student enthusiasm. In the end, the class of 2026 earned the win and the cup.
For alumni, the weekend’s festivities wicked off the prior evening with a Thursday night
Alumni Happy Hour at Hardywood West Creek Brewery. Out-of-town travelers connected with local classmates under a tent at the expansive Goochland gathering space.
Reunion class alumni arrived early in the evening to reconnect and
pose for their class photos. The prize for the largest turnout went to the class of 1984, celebrating their 40th reunion. Coming in a close second was the class of 2004, marking their 20th. [

Alumni gathered in a special tent for the first annual Alumni Tailgate, while students and other children enjoyed snow cones, face-painting and ornament decorating in the Family Fun Zone. The youngest alumni from the class of 2024 returned to pick up their copies of
The Shield yearbook, hot off the presses. [

An active student cheering section, Pep Band and DJ kept the school spirit high all afternoon. After four intense quarters, the game came down to the final play, with Trinity intercepting a last-second pass to stop a Saints comeback and seal a 14-10 victory.
Later that evening, students enjoyed an outdoor Homecoming Dance under the big tent in Dunn Courtyard, now a beloved Trinity tradition.
Special thanks to the volunteers, staff, attendees and student leaders who teamed up to make 2024 Homecoming Week the best ever. Go Titans!
