Grace Parker Jump Start to Spanish

Course Description

This class will help build a foundation of knowledge prior to Spanish 2 for each student. Through an intensive three afternoons of instruction, we will be able to identify and address knowledge gaps and provide a great deal of practice in the four areas of communication:  listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Entering the Spanish 2 classroom will be much less intimidating and more success will be earned by each student who participates in the summer course.
 
It will also offer a mini-orientation and a preview of high school work at Trinity.  It will be a warm and safe welcome into high school life and help the students feel better prepared when classes begin.

    • Reviewer  Session: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (**Incoming or Returning Trinity Students only**)

    Open to incoming students with a background in Spanish 1 and who are preparing for Spanish 1, 2, or 2 Honors

About the Instructor

About Ms. Parker: My name is Grace Parker and I have had the pleasure of teaching Spanish at Trinity for four years. I am from Lynchburg, VA where I attended Lynchburg College (Now University of Lynchburg) and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Theatre performance. I worked at Blue Ridge Montessori school in Lynchburg teaching Spanish to students ages 5-8, and from there went on to earn my Master of Arts in Hispanic Studies from The University of Georgia, where I had the opportunity to instruct university courses at the lower level. I consider myself a life-long learner, and a huge supporter of trying new things! Which is why I love helping and encouraging students new to their foreign language journey. I love travelling, especially to Spanish-speaking countries, doing yoga with my sister, singing, reading, and riding my bike.
