All Together Now

An unprecedented nine Trinity singers selected into All-District High School Chorus
An unprecedented nine Trinity choral students have been accepted into All-District High School Chorus for 2021-22. District 1 of the Virginia Choral Directors Association (VCDA) organizes a High-School-level all-district choral event annually. Performers must be selected by audition for a three-day rehearsal and performance event with clinicians in February.

“This is by far the most students that Trinity has ever had accepted in one year, and it is a huge honor for us!” said Kimberly Ryan, Trinity choral director. “The chairperson of the audition even sent me a personal congratulatory email to let me know that our school was one of the only ones to have almost all of our auditioning students gain acceptance. Remarkable!”

For the audition, each student prepared the required piece, an art song by G.F. Handel, submitting a recording for judging. A team of professional singers listened to nearly 500 student submissions district-wide and ranked them on specific vocal attributes and musical skills. “This was a "blind" audition, so the students were judged purely on their sound,” said Ryan. “The judges had no way of knowing who they were or what school they attended.”

Congratulations to this year’s Trinity’s All-District High School Chorus representatives:
