• Online Tuition Payments and Insurance

  Trinity is pleased to offer online tuition payment options through FACTS Payment Plans. Enrolling in a FACTS tuition payment plan allows you to select a payment option that best suits your financial needs and preferred method of payment.

  
  

  We are pleased to offer monthly and quarterly plans. Payments can be made either via credit card or automatic bank draft. Please note: payments made through a credit card are assessed an additional charge for processing. To get started and learn more, please visit the Trinity FACTS page. 

  
  

  Tuition insurance through the Tuition Refund Plan is required for quarterly and monthly payment plans and optional for others. The cost is .9% of tuition, less the $500 contract deposit, included on the first bill. Insurance must be paid before the school year starts. Read more about the Tuition Refund Plan here.

  Parents should expect to receive detailed eNews blasts by email on a monthly basis. To ensure that you continue to receive important notifications, please take a moment to add the email address trinitynews@trinityes.org to your address book or contact list.

• School Profile Update

  A School Profile Update must be completed for each student by June 1. This is an annual online form to complete your child(ren)’s registration and enrollment for 2024-2025 and includes requests for:

  The School Profile Update should take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete for each child enrolled. To access the update, please login to your PowerSchool account, click “Forms” and select the first form under the Profile Update header. (If you have already submitted the Student, Contact and Emergency Information form, please verify that the information is still correct before continuing to the next form.)

• Course Selection

  All new families will need to reserve a time to meet face-to-face with their assigned scheduler. These meetings will take place in June, and the deadline to reserve a time is Saturday, June 1. As you complete the School Profile Update (see above), you will see one section for “New Student Course Registration.” You will follow the link to your scheduler’s Google Calendar, which opens in a new tab, and select an available date and time to meet with them. You will also see an area to type your pre-selected courses for the school year. Those pre-selections are not final but will help guide the discussion with your scheduler. Final schedules will be available via PowerSchool on August 5. Once you have completed the Google Calendar sign-up, return to the PowerSchool form, check "Appointment has been requested," submit and continue to the last form, Volunteer Opportunities.

   

  Please have your student review the Course Description Guide ahead of time. It is helpful to know that all students take five-year-long academic courses (English, social studies, mathematics, science, and world language) each year. Students will also need to select at least two electives. Prior to graduation, students need to take two fine arts courses and one religion course. Students should keep this in mind when making their choices. The primary goal of the course selection process is to create a curriculum that will allow students to grow academically while maintaining balance in their school, home and extracurricular lives. Admission testing, grades, and previous coursework will be considered when planning the schedule. A link to summer assignments will be published on June 1.

• Final Transcripts

  To create your student’s official transcript here at Trinity we will need a final, official, year-end transcript from your current school. Please print the Release of Student Records Form and return a signed copy to your current school. This will release the necessary year-end documents to Trinity. 

   

• Student Medical Records (Magnus Health Profile)

  The Magnus Health Portal is now open for new families for submission of medical documents for the 2024-25 school year. All Trinity students are required to complete a Magnus Health Profile, which will include permissions to participate in activities and a space to upload your most recent physical exam (see below). To access the update, please login to your PowerSchool account, click the “Applications” icon and select “Magnus Health” the second form under the Application header. Parents will receive an additional email later this month with detailed instructions about how to access and update their Magnus Health account. However, the portal may be accessed at any time via your PowerSchool account. 

   

  All Trinity students are required to have a physical exam completed and dated AFTER May 1, 2024 by a physician and uploaded to the Magnus Health profile before participating in any on-campus Trinity activity. Please bring the official Trinity Student Physical Exam (PDF) form with you to your exam.

• Student Physical Exams

  All Trinity students are required to have a physical exam completed and dated AFTER May 1, 2024 by a physician (and uploaded to the Magnus Health profile) before participating in any on-campus Trinity activity in 2024-25. To facilitate this process, Trinity will be hosting an on-campus school physical session on Tuesday, May 21 (2:45-6:00 p.m.) in the Estes Athletic Center. Dr. Steven G. Reece, of OrthoVirginia, will be on campus performing the physicals.

   

  The cost is $30 and only cash is accepted.  Please register here using this Signup Genius link.

• Athletics

  Athletic practices for most varsity teams begin the week of Monday, August 12. (Football practices begin Monday, August 5.) If your student plans to play a fall sport please review the Fall Athletics Preparation Grid for specific start dates and contact information. Contact Associate Athletic Director Adam Lonon (adamlonon@trinityes.org) with questions. 

  
  

  Completed physical exams and Magnus Health Profile (see above) are required for participation in the summer workouts and for all sports and activities during the school year. 

  
  

  Beginning in June, on-campus summer strength and conditioning will be available for Trinity athletes. Two evenings per week, incoming students (girls and boys in all sports) will be encouraged to come to the Estes Athletic Center to make new friends and meet new teammates. Please refer to the Summer Strength and Conditioning Schedule for times. Contact Strength and Conditioning Coach Adam Banwarth (adambanwarth@trinityes.org) with questions.

• Technology

  MacBooks

  Trinity Episcopal School is pleased to provide all students and faculty members with a 13-inch Apple MacBook Air laptop computer. We hope that you share our excitement of being able to provide the MacBook computers as an instructional resource to our students and teachers at Trinity. Devices are owned by Trinity Episcopal School and are loaned to the student for educational purposes for the duration of their Trinity career or until further notice, in accordance with Trinity’s acceptable use policies and rules. All students will be required to purchase a hard case for their device and bring their case with them to laptop distribution during Orientation. In addition, students will need to bring to school their own headphones for use with the device and their own adapters, as these MacBooks do not come with an SD card slot or USB port. Please view this document for MacBook Air model numbers for case purchasing.

• Summer Assignments

  Trinity teachers post summer assignments so that incoming students can best prepare for the year. All assignments are available at www.trinityes.org/summerassignments for the summer of 2024.

• Optional Lunch Delivery Program

  Trinity offers an optional lunch delivery program for students on a quarterly basis. Interested parents can sign up via PDF/paper form and with payment by check. 
  
  More details will be shared later in the spring when the first-quarter fall order form is finalized.

• Textbooks and School Supplies

  At this time, books are not sold from the Titan Closet campus store. 
  
  

  USED Textbook Purchases

  Trinity uses a combination of online and physical textbooks for students’ classes and curriculum. The Trinity Parents Association (TPA) sponsors an online Used Textbook Sale for physical textbooks beginning August 1, 2024, the same day that student schedules become available on Powerschool. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to supporting school needs. As a service to parents, the TPA book sale committee also publishes a comprehensive list of books required for each course prior to the start of the online book sale.   NEW Textbook Purchases (not through TPA’s sale)

  Depending on the class and curriculum, Trinity’s TPA Used Textbook Sale may not carry required books for your students’ classes and you will need to seek other venues for purchasing books. One option (but not required) is to purchase new books through the BNC Direct online bookstore (https://bnck-12.com/trinityes).  BNC may begin sending Trinity families emails as early as July 2024 and will use the Trinity logo in their communications. Be aware that this is NOT the TPA’s book sale, but simply another option to order NEW books or books that TPA’s Used Book Sale does not offer. Please also note that you cannot order any BNC books until you have your student’s schedule, which is posted on August 1.   School Supplies

  Students will need common school supplies -- pens, pencils, looseleaf paper, folders, etc. Students will need a TI-84 Plus Series calculator for all math classes after Algebra 1. Each teacher provides a syllabus in the first week of school that includes a list of specific supplies needed. 

• New Student Orientation Day (Monday, August 19)

  Orientation day will include team-building activities, presentations on community values by student leaders and technology training sessions with Trinity staff. Activities are being planned for new students (8th, 9th, and transfer) during that day. This orientation day will help to build community while allowing students and faculty to get to know one another before we begin our 8-day rotational class schedule.

• Parent Directory

  Trinity will publish an online school directory on August 1 that includes the ability to sort parent contact information by ZIP code and locate other Trinity families near you.

• Daily Schedule & Late-Start Monday

  The daily academic schedule at Trinity follows an eight-day rotation: eight traditional class periods are spread out over eight instructional days, then the rotation begins again. Over those eight days, each course meets six times—with one longer period per day that a teacher may use for activities, science labs, projects or group work. A rotational schedule is not a block schedule, which has a much lower frequency of student/teacher contact. An eight-day rotational schedule gives students broader course selection while maintaining a high degree of frequency of teacher/student contact.

  The first day of school (Tuesday, August 20) will follow a "DAY 1" schedule. Wednesday, August 21 with "DAY 2;" Thursday, August 22 will be "DAY 3;" etc.
  
  Late-Start Monday
  

  Every Monday, however, Trinity follows the "Late-Start Monday" schedule, which means students should arrive to Trinity for Morning Meeting at 8:45 a.m., and will be dismissed at 3:15 p.m.
  
  

   

• Dress Code and Approved Trinity Clothing

  The boundaries of Trinity’s dress standard are designed to promote a learning environment and remind students that they are all part of a unified community. The standard allows students the opportunity to express themselves through their dress, but it does not permit any clothing deemed inappropriate. All clothing must be clean, neat, in good condition and worn for the purpose and in the manner for which it was designed.

  The Titan Closet is the ONLY approved merchant for Trinity apparel
  
  Parents, please be aware that Trinity does NOT have an online school store. The only merchant that produces and sells official, approved Trinity gear is the Titan Closet, located here on campus in the Estes Athletic Center. Any merchandise or apparel purchased online is not coming from a licensed or approved source, and Trinity will not receive any proceeds from purchases made online. Please note also that official Trinity apparel (including team and club apparel) produced in coordination with the Titan Closet is the only kind of “Trinity tee-shirt” considered an acceptable part of the school’s dress code.

  
  As always, the Titan Closet is stocked full of attractive and school-approved apparel, with new merchandise and designs added seasonally. Please stop in, visit the store’s web page or contact store manager Wendy Williams (wendywilliams@trinityes.org) to learn more.

• Freshman Class Retreat (Sep. 4-6)

  Each year, Trinity’s ninth graders participate in an off-campus program designed to foster effective group interaction. This year’s class will travel together to the Horizons Outdoor Learning and Retreat Center in Harrisonburg, VA, where they will participate in an outdoor program geared toward strengthening group skills and class unity in a fun and unique setting. A team of faculty chaperones will accompany the group on this three-day, two-night retreat, as professional facilitators from Horizons lead the daily activities.

  
  

  This year’s trip is planned for Wednesday, September 4 through Friday, September 6. Please save the date and anticipate more details, permission forms and a supplemental fee for travel, meals and lodging. 
  We encourage your child’s participation as we have found it to be an invaluable part of the Trinity freshman experience.

• 8th Grade Retreat (Oct. 9-11)

  Early in the fall, the 8th grade will enjoy an outdoor adventure and class bonding experience in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. A team of faculty chaperones will accompany the group on this three-day, two-night retreat, and professional facilitators from Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing in Newcastle, VA will lead the activities.

   

  This year’s trip is planned for Wednesday, October 9 through Friday, October 11. Please save the dates and anticipate more details, permission forms and a supplemental fee for travel, meals and lodging. We encourage your child’s participation as we have found it to be an invaluable part of the Trinity 8th grade experience.
